Commercial — vans, pickups & fleets
A van off the road isn’t an inconvenience. It’s lost income
Servicing, repairs and planned maintenance for vans, pickups and small business fleets across Somerset, Bath and Bristol. Priority booking, honest turnaround times, and one number to ring.
The short answer
Vans are a large part of the work at MB Auto, not a sideline. Erdi services and repairs Transits, Sprinters, Transporters, Crafters, Vivaros, Movanos, Trafics, Masters, Boxers, Relays, Berlingos, Proaces and Dailies — from routine servicing to clutches, cambelts, gearboxes and turbos.
If you run three vehicles or more, Erdi will set up planned maintenance: staggered service dates so the fleet is never all off the road at once, reminders before things fall due, one consolidated invoice, and a discounted labour rate.
Why commercial work is handled differently here
When a car is in the workshop, the owner is inconvenienced. When a van is in the workshop, somebody is not earning. Erdi has worked on enough trade vehicles to understand the difference, and commercial jobs are run accordingly:
- Priority booking. A van that will not start on a Monday morning does not get an appointment on Thursday if there is any way round it.
- An honest time, early. You get told how long he needs the vehicle for as soon as he knows — not at five o'clock when you have already written off the day. If a part is coming from a factor tomorrow, you hear that this morning.
- Same-day turnaround wherever parts allow. Common service items and wear parts for the main van ranges are readily available locally, and most routine work goes back the same day.
- Work outside the working day where it helps. If the only way to keep a van earning is to take it in the evening and have it back for the morning, say so and Erdi will do what he can.

Fleet maintenance for small operators
Most fleet-maintenance offerings are built for operators running fifty vehicles. This one is built for the businesses that actually exist round here: a builder with three vans, a courier firm with six, a groundworks outfit with a couple of tippers and a pickup, a mobile trades business where the van is the business.
What that looks like in practice:
- A schedule, staggered. Service intervals planned across the fleet so you are never down two vehicles in the same week.
- Reminders before things fall due. Services, MOTs and cambelt intervals tracked per vehicle and flagged in advance, not the week they expire.
- One invoice. Consolidated monthly if you prefer, itemised per vehicle and per registration, so your bookkeeping stays simple and it all reconciles.
- A discounted labour rate from three vehicles up. Agreed in advance and applied to everything, not just servicing.
- A record per vehicle. What was done, when, at what mileage — which matters when you come to sell them on, and matters more if you are ever asked to show that your vehicles are maintained.
- One number. You ring Erdi. Not a service desk, not a booking line.
Collection and delivery, which matters more for a fleet
Nobody running a business can spare a driver to sit in a waiting room. Erdi collects from your yard, your site or your driver's house, and brings the vehicle back — free within 5 miles of the workshop for a vehicle that runs and drives, and priced per postcode further out — including Bristol, Bath and Yeovil. For a fleet on a planned schedule, that is usually the arrangement from the start: vehicles collected on agreed dates and returned the same day. More on how collection works.
MOTs for commercial vehicles
MB Auto is not a testing station, but Erdi pre-checks vans before the test — which for a working van is worth doing properly, because they fail on things cars do not: load-related suspension wear, corroded brake pipes, body and door condition, and lighting damaged by loading. Anything found is quoted before the test, and he takes the vehicle to a local station and back.
Pickups, 4x4s and towing vehicles
Hiluxes, Rangers, L200s, Navaras, Defenders and Discoverys get the same treatment, including the things that only show up on a vehicle that tows: clutch and dual-mass wear, transfer box and diff oils, cooling under load, and rear suspension that has spent years carrying weight.

Van & fleet questions
Do you collect and deliver the car?
Yes. If the vehicle runs and drives, collection and delivery is free within 5 miles of the workshop — Erdi picks it up from your home or workplace, does the work, and brings it back. Further out, and still running and driving, call or text your postcode and he will price the trip before you commit to anything. If it will not drive at all it needs recovering rather than collecting, and he will say so and point you at someone local.
Do you work on vans and commercial vehicles?
Yes — vans are a large part of the work here. Transits, Sprinters, Transporters, Vivaros, Trafics, Boxers and Dailies all come through regularly. Erdi understands that a van off the road is lost income, so commercial jobs get priority booking and, where possible, same-day turnaround.
Can you look after a fleet of vans?
Yes. MB Auto handles planned maintenance for small business fleets — scheduled servicing so vehicles are not all off the road at once, one consolidated invoice, reminders sent before services and MOTs fall due, and a single phone number when something breaks. Fleets of three vehicles and up get a discounted labour rate.
Do you do MOTs?
MB Auto is not an MOT testing station, but Erdi will pre-check your vehicle, arrange the test at a local station, and take it there and back for you. Anything that needs putting right is quoted first — you will not get a phone call from a test centre with a list of work already started.
How quickly can you look at my car?
Most vehicles can be booked in within a few days, and urgent problems — a van off the road, a car that will not start, a warning light before a long trip — are usually looked at the same week. Call or WhatsApp 07846 050457 and Erdi will tell you honestly when he can fit you in.
How do I pay?
Cash, bank transfer, or card on the reader in the workshop — whichever suits, paid on collection or when the vehicle is returned to you. Cash is king and always welcome. There is no charge for a quote, and no deposit for ordinary servicing and repairs. Larger parts orders may need paying for up front, and Erdi will say so at the point of quoting.
